Who Homebirths?

I found a wonderful blog to inspire me during this pregnancy: http://www.blognow.com.au/whohomebirths/

I'm not sure if I am going to go for a homebirth this time, or a midwife-assisted hospital birth (both of my births so far were in the hospital, but attended by only midwives, no doctors or nurses, and they were great). But honestly, I can't get enough homebirth stories! I find them so encouraging and empowering!

(I love this photo because I honestly had no idea that there was a cloth on my head until I saw the photos after! I was in total birth-euphoria!)

Ya know, I love the idea of a homebirth but I think the most important thing is that you birth your own way, no matter where that may be. We wanted a homebirth all 3 times but just couldn't afford it. My last birth was absolutely wonderful, even though it was in a hospital.
We were left alone the entire time right up until the very end, and I felt much more comfortable with the hospital midwife than the only midwife in our area who would attend a homebirth. In the long run I think we made the right decision. It's just the pride in me that wants to be able to say that I had a homebirth. But I can say that I birthed a 10lb 4ounce baby with absolutely no drugs whatsoever, and that says something.

Zuri was born at home, and the experience was 100% more peaceful then hosanna's. I'm so glad we did it. worth it in everyway.
