...Ask my kitchen.
"Kelly is feeling depressed, anxious, and overwhelmed."
"Kelly is feeling happy, in control, and on top of the world."
Funny how my kitchen reflects my mental state. Yet at the same time, my kitchen can determine my mental state. When I am feeling good, I have no problem keeping things clean and tidy, which, in turn, makes me feel good. But when I am feeling down, I am overwhelmed by the smallest things which makes things like cleaning impossible, which just makes me feel even worse. I hate how that works. I need to become much more disciplined.

I hear you, oh - how I hear you. I was telling my husband the same thing the other day.
I actually find that when I'm feeling down cleaning lifts my spirits. I put on some worship music, set the kids up with something to distract them, & clean. It's like clearing the clutter around me clears my head.
wow. I would go crazy if my kitchen ever EVER looked even near that cluttery. but this is the voice of a neat freak who has to have everything in order all the time.
oh I SO know what you mean! I feel exactly the same way. my kitchen is a great way to determine how I'm feeling that day!
